What We Believe

ABOUT THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is the revealed Word of God, fully and verbally inspired by God. We believe the Scriptures to be the inerrant and infallible Word of God, as found in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We also believe that the Bible is to be our supreme and final authority in both faith and life. We believe that the Word of God has been divinely preserved in the King James Version for English speaking people.

ABOUT GOD

We believe in one God Who is eternal, self-existent, infinite and immutable. We believe He has one nature and one essence, yet manifests Himself in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections (with separate and distinct functions) and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence and obedience.

ABOUT JESUS

We believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only Savior of mankind. We believe Jesus to be eternally God and to possess all the attributes of Deity. We believe that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, that He was virgin born, and that He never relinquished any attributes of His Deity but merely veiled them. We believe He lived a perfect, sinless life, at the end of which He was offered as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ and that He ascended into Heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father where He is our Mediator, Priest and Advocate. We believe in His imminent and premillennial return for His church, followed by His coming in glory seven years later to rule and reign as King for 1,000 years.

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is a person who has personality and all the attributes of Deity. We believe the Holy Spirit has always been involved in the affairs of mankind; however, we believe He has a special ministry which began at Pentecost and will continue until the rapture of the church. This ministry includes reproving the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. The Holy Spirit also regenerates, sanctifies, seals and fills all who have placed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

THE FALL OF MAN

We believe that man, originally created in the image and after the likeness of God, fell from his high and holy estate by eating the forbidden fruit. We believe that because of this original sin, all mankind is born with an inherited sin nature received as the consequence of this disobedience. We believe that because of this nature, man is a sinner by choice and is totally incapable of reforming himself or ceasing from his sin by his own power. We believe that an individual’s only hope lies in a total change of mind concerning his sinful condition and inability to change it, and a turning to Jesus Christ as the only Savior. We believe that only through the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus on the cross can one be delivered from sin. We believe that those who reject Jesus Christ as Savior are condemned to an eternity in the lake of fire.

THE SALVATION OF MANKIND

We believe that salvation is a gift of God, brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose perfect blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins.

THE SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER

We believe that the person who has trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior is eternally secured in Him. We believe that the believer’s standing in Christ is perfect and eternally changeless.

CREATION

We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the gap theory, the day-age theory, theistic evolution and intelligent design not attributed to God as unscriptural theories of origin.

BIBLICAL ORDINANCES

We believe and practice the Biblical ordinances of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism involves the immersion in water and from the water of a believer to show forth one’s faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial service that sets forth, in a sacred and symbolic manner, the death of the Lord Jesus Christ upon our behalf. The emblems of the service are not literal nor do they contain the flesh and blood of Jesus. Rather, they are symbolic of the great sacrifice the Savior offered. The Communion service is for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ (regardless of church affiliation) and to be taken only after solemn self-examination.
